This month, we’re proud to spotlight Wylie, our General Manager at Mission Viejo Glass and a cornerstone of our company for the past 30 years.
Wylie has seen every side of Mission Viejo Glass’ history and has been a steady constant through it all. Starting as a helper on installations, he quickly worked his way up the ranks, first as a lead installer, then lead field estimator, and finally landing the General Manager position about 10 years ago.
His knowledge of the glazing industry is truly unmatched. If you give Wylie a street name anywhere in our Orange County service area, there’s a good chance he can tell you exactly what materials the original window frames are made of in that neighborhood.
After three decades in the industry, Wylie has had a front-row seat to the changing styles of architectural hardware, from black and gold, to brushed nickel, to oil-rubbed bronze, and now all the way back to black and gold again. His insight, consistency, and eye for detail have been invaluable to both our team and our customers.
Though he’s a constant presence in his manager’s chair, Wylie is never one to sit still when there’s work to be done. Always willing to wear different hats, he’s known to grab his tool belt and jump in on an installation when needed, a common occurrence in a small business like Mission Viejo Glass, where teamwork is everything.
When the pandemic hit, Wylie was one of the very first to volunteer to come back to work. As an essential business, we continued serving our community, and Wylie hopped into an install truck without hesitation, ensuring customers’ needs were met despite all the uncertainty.
Ask Wylie about his “baby,” his beautiful black F-150, and his face lights up with pride. He cares for that truck with the same dedication he brings to everything in his life, but nothing compares to the joy that shines on his face when he talks about recently becoming a grandfather.
