Rebuilding a Life and Caring for Feet

Valeriia Dyshko’s Journey in Podology

By Thomas Fitzgerald

When the war in Ukraine threatened the safety of Valeriia Dyshko’s children, she faced a heart-wrenching yet courageous decision: to leave her home and start anew in the United States. With unwavering determination, Valeriia arrived in the U.S., committed to rebuilding her life while pursuing her passion for podology, a specialized field of medicine focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and care of foot, ankle, and lower limb disorders.

Podology addresses a wide range of conditions, from ingrown toenails and fungal infections to corns, calluses, bunions, plantar fasciitis, and diabetic foot complications. Podologists, like Valeriia, are trained healthcare professionals who perform detailed examinations, prescribe treatments, and offer expert advice on foot hygiene and proper footwear. Their work ensures that patients not only address medical issues but also regain comfort and confidence in their daily lives.

“Back home, I spent over 12 years as a podologist,” Valeriia shares. “Here, I retrained as a Podiatrist Assistant and opened my own studio in Ladera Ranch—Foot Care Pedicure, a place where experience, precision, and genuine care come together.” Her studio reflects her dedication to excellence, offering a unique blend of medical expertise and aesthetic care tailored to each client’s needs.

Valeriia specializes in aesthetic and medical pedicures, adhering to the European standard for dry pedicures. This waterless, clinical-grade technique utilizes professional podological products, combined with her signature approach, to ensure gentle yet effective treatment. “My work helps where regular salons cannot—with cracks, calluses, nail complications, or simply when you want your feet to feel light, healthy, and beautiful again,” she explains. Her services go beyond cosmetic care, addressing complex foot issues with medical precision while prioritizing patient comfort.

At Foot Care Pedicure, every visit is an experience rooted in care, respect, and expertise. Valeriia’s journey from Ukraine to Ladera Ranch is a testament to her resilience and commitment to helping others. “This is more than a job,” she says. “It’s my way of helping people feel confident, comfortable, and cared for.”
