Brooke Gourd launched Brooke’s Balloons after she became a mom and moved to Rancho Mission Viejo about two years ago. Wanting to make her daughters’ parties extra special, Brooke was immediately drawn to the art of balloon design and how something so timeless could feel fresh, exciting, and endlessly creative. What started as a personal passion quickly grew into something more.
“I spent countless hours researching techniques, practicing designs, and perfecting my craft for my own children’s celebrations,” says Brooke. “Before long, friends began asking if they could hire me for their events, and just like that, Brooke’s Balloons was born.”
From those early beginnings, Brooke’s success has truly been fueled by the incredible support she received from friends and family. Their referrals have meant everything. Since then, Brooke has had the joy of decorating for Ford, several local elementary schools, and a wide range of celebrations, including bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays, proposals, graduations, and more.
As Brooke’s Balloons approaches its two-year anniversary this March, one of the things Brooke is most proud of is offering free delivery to her fellow Rancho Mission Viejo residents. “Living in this community has been an absolute dream,” says Brooke. “Seeing so many inspiring, mom-owned small businesses around me gave me the confidence to chase this creative path.”
Running Brooke’s Balloons allows Brooke to express her creativity while still being home with her children, inflating joy (and balloons!) for others. She considers it a real gift to connect with so many wonderful people in our town and to be part of their milestones, from first birthdays to graduations and everything in between. She says that watching families return year after year for their special occasions is such a privilege and reminds her every day why she started the business: to make moments beautiful and celebrations unforgettable.
