Since 1992, Marguerite Christian School has served over 2,000 families in the greater Mission Viejo area with a balanced academic and developmental Christian program. As a ministry of the Mission Viejo Church of Christ, our mission is to provide a safe, emotionally healthy, developmentally sound, and spiritually based learning environment for all students ages 2.9 years old through kindergarten.
MCS offers several class options and small class sizes.
- Two-, Three-, and Five-Day Options for Potty-Trained 3- and 4-Year-Olds.
- Students learn colors, numbers, shapes, and pre-writing skills.
- Students develop social skills, such as walking in a line, sitting in a group, working cooperatively, and following three-step directions.
- Universal Transitional Kindergarten
- Reinforce academic and social skills needed to be successful and prepared for kindergarten.
- Transitional Kindergarten
- Designed to provide children with an additional year to mature before kindergarten and begin learning how to read.
- Kindergarten
- Adheres to California State standards and taught by credentialed teacher.
- Focus on reading, writing sentences, math, science, and social studies.
All Classes:
- Go to chapel once a week to learn songs, bible stories, and bible verses.
- Learn to strengthen their fine motor skills through painting, coloring, cutting, glueing, and much more.
- Go to recess where they can run, jump, climb, build in the sandbox, swing, and ride tricycles.
Extended Care
Parents can extend their child’s day by adding a class until 2pm. MCS offers the Explorers Program on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and Afternoon Adventures on Tuesdays and Thursdays. MCS teaching staff have both professional training and teaching experience prior to being employed at the school, and all staff members are licensed, background checked, health checked, and CPR and First Aid certified.
Student Vaccines
- Since January 1, 2016, Senate Bill 277 eliminated the Personal Belief Form. Personal beliefs exemptions on file for a child already attending childcare or school remain valid until the child reaches the next immunization checkpoint at kindergarten (including transitional kindergarten) or 7th grade.
“All our staff members are Christians, dedicated to the concept that quality education includes instilling basic Christian principles in children during their formative years, enabling them to grow mentally, physically, spiritually, and socially,” says MCS Director Jynette Jacobs.
Parents can take an online tour at the MCS website and/or schedule an in-person tour by calling the school.
